Adult Leaders and Volunteers
![]() |
Veterans Pride Battalion is always in need of adult volunteers interested in working with the cadets in the program. The NSCC officer corps is composed of dedicated men and women, civilian and military, who are interested in the education and training of American youth, and in furthering the goals and objectives of the NSCC/NLCC. All unit staff members are volunteers, receiving no pay or allowances. While past military experience is helpful, it is by no means required. The most important quality is the ability to always follow the motto “It’s for the cadets!”. Parents can be as involved as their schedules permit. |
Officers and Instructors
| Officers and instructors are adult volunteers who have made the commitment to become members of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps and to support a local unit with a greater level of involvement. These volunteers are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the unit and drills. They are expected to attend a series of training programs, which are designed specifically for USNSCC officers and instructors. Many USNSCC officers have previous military experience. Some are currently serving in active or reserve duty in one of the armed services. However, this is not a requirement. Any parent can complete an application to become an officer or instructor. Parents wishing to participate as officers or instructors should be advised that all applicants are subject to a security screening and/or background check. | ![]() |
